OK: firstly, I believe they have to leave that sticker on the window for 30 minutes before they can clamp/take away your car.

Secondly, check with the local councilor, to see if this is legal. To me, a business claiming the entire street for their own sounds dodgy, as does the bit that it eliminates parking of other business's on the street.

One security guy would stay with the money the other would come with us in the car. Arrive at bank, no spaces so park but still park near bank but not obstructing anything, there was just no white lines (if you knew the place it was in front of those really wide steps). We had to park close because the buckets were very, very heavy. Full to the brim with change.
Next time ask the bank can you count in the bank.

I remeber one time i got clamped in Galway City for my parkin disk ran out, came back to my car after the clampers had finished for the night at 1am, went home got a tube of superglue, let you figure out the rest, called the clampers next mornin to release the clamp, low and behold it the clamper said sombody interferred with clamp, they had to cut the clamp of with a angle grinder and in the process they damaged my brand new alloys, clampers ended up payin me money, and i didnt have to pay the release fee. :D:D

Got one of those private clamps in DCU last year. When asked to sign the CC slip to pay I signed a different name. When the charge came through I rang Bank of Ireland, said I didn't sign for that transaction and they did the chargeback. I then found out the security guys car and let the air out of three of his tyres. A bit extreme I know but he was a wanker and deserved it in my opinion.

In Paris when clamping started people used to put superglue into the locks. Not just the owners of the clamped car ! So after about two weeks the clampers gave up.

So pay the €85 and then throw a hissy fit and demand compensation when they can't unclamp the car.

€39 each - simply buy four - you can't put two clamps on the same wheel.
My sentiments exactly. They also won't be able to tow you....genius.

i dont understand why everyone presumes he will get caught. just do it somewhere with no cctv. clamp the van then walk to a safe distance and wait. if they ask you did you put the clamp on, just say no.

He'll get caught because he told everybody, if the driver wants the day/night off then well make sure that he isn't caught! lol

Hang on...so you did have to pay in the end?

Haha...maybe you all should just get in touch with the man who makes fluorosulphuric acid!

My idea though...buy one of those clamps from Argos and keep it in your boot.
Then put the clamp on your own car when you park.
The clampers may just leave you alone.

Then take it off when you're done and continue on your merry way.

Hmmm ..... have a feeling I know this college too. Will be keeping an eye around campus for this alright.
Seriously though the parking is a disgrace, and is it true the college only have the one clamp ? That would make it extra funy if you destroyed it. :D:D
