http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7498056.stmFlight delays at Dublin airport
Dublin International Airport is operating at half its usual capacity because of a problem with its radar system.
The airport is handling 12 departures and 12 arrivals an hour.
Earlier, all flights in and out of the airport were stopped. A similar problem a number of weeks ago led to major delays.
The Irish Aviation Authority took the decision after suffering chronic breakdowns of their radar screens.
The airport was shut down at about 1400 BST on Wednesday because air traffic controllers could not see the codes used to label incoming aircraft.
The decision has forced dozens of flights to be grounded, or diverted to other Irish airports.
IAA spokeswoman Lilian Cassin said the fault was first reported at 1145 BST on Wednesday and it was fully functioning 10 minutes later, but the system failed a second time.
"When the fault happened a second time at 1330 BST, we didn't have the confidence to continue," she said.
"Safety is our overriding concern and in the interest of safety we shut down the system from 1445 BST.
"We hope to have it back at 1500 BST but that will be reviewed."
Ms Cassin said air traffic controllers have experienced similar problems over the last four to five weeks, but that Wednesday's malfunction was the longest period the code system had failed.
She revealed that IAA engineers were working on site, alongside a team from Thales - the French company which supplied the system - and Hewlett-Packard.
"Engineers haven't been able to exactly pinpoint what the problem is," she added.
"We want to be satisfied ourselves before we go back to operating."0 -

The Irish Aviation Authority have advised us that operational capacity at Dublin Airport is now running at 80 percent. Consequently some delays are likely to occur at peak times. This situation is expected to continue over the course of the next few days.
As a result airlines may continue to experience delays departing and arriving into Dublin Airport during this time.
Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair have issued the following advice:
Aerlingus:
Aer Lingus are advising passengers that hold confirmed reservations to check-in as normal at the airport.
Passengers who need to make changes or claim refunds, may do this at www.aerlingus.com, alternatively they may call the Aer lingus Customer Contact Centre on the following numbers:
Customer Contact within Ireland: 0818 365044
Customer Contact outside Ireland: 003531 886 8690
Ryanair:
Due to the continuing failure of the IAA to restore the Radar System to full capacity at Dublin Airport - Ryanair's flights are again this morning suffering delays of up to 1 hour which means that significant delays and cancellations cannot be ruled out later today. Ryanair is continuing to work with the IAA this morning to try to reduce these delays in an effort to minimise delays and cancellations to our schedule.
For further information on flights and delays please check the flight information page on www.ryanair.com
Irish Aviation Authority:
The Irish Aviation Authority will provide further updates on their website at www.iaa.ie as information becomes available.

GENEVIEVE CARBERRY
DUBLIN BUS drivers who had withdrawn evening services from two routes in north Clondalkin for almost a fortnight because of anti-social behaviour, yesterday agreed to restore services after they were promised increased Garda presence on the routes.
Neilstown Road, Ronanstown and the Fonthill Road had not been served after 7.30pm by the the 78A bus between Dublin city centre and Liffey Valley and the 76 bus between the West County Hotel and Tallaght since July 5th.
Evening services were diverted after an increasing number of incidents in which rocks were thrown at buses resulting in broken windows, National Bus and Rail Union drivers' representative Martin Feery said, describing it as "a very serious situation".
Drivers are due to review the situation in two weeks, Mr Feery said.
However, a long-term solution is needed to tackle the other problems on the routes including drug-taking, drug selling and drinking, particularly on the upper deck of the buses, he added.0 -

Further phases will be delivered to enhace the station environment and provide customers with a first class station facility.
Some customers will be used to seeing our new ticket gates at other stations. The gates couldn't be easier to use. Simply insert your ticket face-up into the slot at the front, take your ticket from the slot on top and pass through.
A specially designed wide-aisle gate ensures that mobility impaired customers and passengers with prams or buggies will be comfortably accomodated.
If you have any queries in relation to the system, our staff in Pearse Station will be happy to help.0 -
