Hi just want to know what is the best book for beginners in java
I hav a book but its quite hard to get into.
any ideas would be great

I don't really know for sure but I'd say maybe one of the for dummies books would be good.

They're usualy good tutorial books.

Hey i am trying to create a JSP page that lists the information in multiple XML files.

All the XML files are formatted the same way ie. all the same fields just different information

How can i get my JSP page to get this info from the XML files and output it.

JAVA 2 essentials by cay horstman is pretty good. Or have a look at the oreilly website www.oreilly.com. some great books on there!

i have found tha the java for dummies books quite unhelpful, the deitel and deitel book isnt bad. online tutorials can be great resources. i remember the complete idiots guide to java 2 being ok.

I found Java in 21 Days quite helpful, although I use it with a raft of other material. I use Java in a Nutshell as a reference/dictionary too. There's some good stuff on the Sun website too, and Deitel & Deitel isn't too bad either. Depends a lot on what you want to achieve.

I had a big red book by ivor horton, think that it was called "begining java 2" or something simular. Very good book. About 50 - 60 euro , but well worth it.
