Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yeah good game alright.

I have a feeling that Villareal might nick this one or at least get a draw. They are at home and have Riquelme back. Xavi is a huge loss for Barca, and it will be felt for the entire season, could have implications for their CL aspirations. Rijkard is missing the game because he is sick apparently.

Only an idiot would back against a Barca team on the back of 8 successive wins, but hey I'm an idiot. 2-1 Villa.

2-0 win to Barca at the end....

Not a great game, but barca deserved it over the 90 minutes.

Some disgraceful diving from poyon though... Dont think that marquez deserved to be sent off.

    And Real sack luxemburgo :D

The second goal deflected off Pena too.
Barca never seemed pressured at all, and the neutralised Riquelme very effectively. A comfortable enough win against their bogey team.
An injury to Motta is not good, so hoping it's not serious. Van Bommel is still out and Xavi is gone for the season so a third midfielder out would be getting a little to similar to last season.
Why couldn't it have been Edmilson that was injured instead of Xavi...

Anyway, 9 wins in a row. Good stuff.

Jaysus, lay off poor old Edmilson. He's just come off the back of a season out injured. But yeah I get your point. Xavi is class.
Did anyone else see at the start of the game the Barca players had t-shirts over their jerseys with his name and a message. Don't know what it said though, probably just wishing him a speedy recovery. Can anyone enlighten me?

It was a clash with Edmilson in training that resulted in Xavi's injury. Edmilson being possibly the weakest link in the Barca team (and the cause of the majority of goals conceeded when he plays in defence) and Xavi being one of the most important players you can see where I'm coming from. Not that I would wish injury on anyone (except Jose Mari).
