    Right now they're classified as firearms, so you run the risk of being done for illegally importing a firearm if caught.

    It looks like the new amendments to the firearms act will class anything with a muzzle energy of <1 Joule as a non-firearm, which might make life easier for you, so best plan looks like watch and wait.
