Sole Trader and Company Number question

Hi, is the number i get on my Registered Business Name Cert the same as a company number eg: for letterheads etc. Also, is there any way of predicting what my VAT number will be? does it follow on from prsi or anything? thanks in advance.

If you're a sole trader you don't have a company number. I think using your RBN would tend to confuse people.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure your VAT number will be your PPSN.
