    How do you get rid of backscatter in photo's? Is there a technique or do you just have to accept it as a fact of life?

    I believe you can start playing with the position of strobes. Move them out and at an angle so when the light is hitting the suspended particles it is not reflected directly back at you.

    Also i think a lot of people have mad skills with photoshop (or other software) and can play with the images and get some good results.

    There is a photography course help in waterworld each year. You remember Ronnie right? I remember talking to him about it as at the time i was thinking of investing in UW photo gear (got side tracked) and it sounded like a good course to go on.

    Another thing to consider is that if the vis is bad... don't bother your arse...

    <edit>
    The nice folks on YD forumn are usually pretty helpful.. you could do a bit of trawling over there.. maybe find something helpful
