    Whats the advantage of being able to record with Dvd Ram on a dvd recorder ? ( is this onto a dvd ram disc?) was thinking of buying this philips dvd recorder ( cost about 300 to 400e)

    80GB hard drive and records in DVD +- r and Dvd +- rw .

    How many times can you re- record on a DVD rw disc and how much do dvd r discs and dvdrw discs cost?

    DVD-RAM
    good:you can start watching what u are recording before it is finished and edit recordings extensively.

    bad:will only play on a ram compatible player and discs are more expensive then +-RW

    If you are getting a hard drive recorder there is no advantage to them.

    BTW, Lidl have a hard drive recorder for EUR300 tomorrow with divx playback. It is probably a lot cheaper then the Philips.
