Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    But now what will happen?
(only answer in relation to utd being out of the champions league not out of europe as a whole, that's what the other thread is for.)
    • Will Fegie get the respect he deserves - none.
    • Will Keano be held a legend by all?
    • Will Forlan have the night of his life?
    • Will they be able to bounce back in the premiership
    • Will they be able to find a new sponsor?
    • Will I get more respect on boards for being so prompt?
    • Will Ronaldo be any less of a sex-symbol?
    • will They get rid of Saha,Park,O'Shea,Fletcher,Aging Giggs, and Scholes?
    • Will they bring anyone else in?
    • Will they change the team y-fronts to a smaller size to encourage participation?

No, Things will just go on as ever.

Ferguson has to **** off NOW. He has lost the plot over the last couple of years and I have been saying it for months and months now.

I cant wait to hear Muppet defend him now

Well that was a super performance by a load of over hyped over paid fools. Cann't believe with the talent at our disposal that we went out in the easiest grup in the whole competition.

In fairness now Arsenal had the easiest group of the whole tournament... and they walked it.

Why don't you shut up and wait for the future to become the present.

    Fergie deserves respect.

Bounce back from what in the prem? they're second.

You need to shut up and spend your time doing something more constructive than trying to be witty with bull**** threads like these.

Andy Gray kept saying United were a better team than Benfica, what a gob****e. Benfica were as good as, if not better than United for the first hour. Can't remember a decent United chance to equalise.

Lille and Villareal(never in tournament), just my opinion, in fairness to Arsenal at least they took all thier games seriously and got the job done.

We have been going nowhere for two years now, and it doesn't look like it is going to get any better. I'm afraid it is time for wholesale change at United. That means clearing out, and getting new, world class players. NOT relying on talent.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,036 ✭✭✭garred

I think in fairness Ferguson should of left a couple of years ago. He has been great for United but me thinks his ego is coming back to bite him in the arse. First there was Ince, then Stam, then Beckham and now Keane. When he dislikes players its usually the door and to be honest they were quality players that would of done something for United. It does'nt seem to be the club Manchester United anymore but Ferguson United....man that sounds crap

For what, Man U finishing bottom of one of the easiest groups in this years CL. We didnt even make the Uefa Cup. As someone on here once said" fergie is like someone after losing all his money in the bookies and is trying to win it back"

Its time he moved on. He cant do anymore with this club.

No he didn't. He said they are a better team than Benfica. He was actually saying that United were poor on the night, and he was right. They should have been able to win.

Aye, talent certainly isn't needed at United!

Bring in Vinny Jones, Razor Ruddock, Lucas Neill and Essien I say!

When the draw was made I said that this was a bad draw for Utd and someone laughed at me as if I was a lunatic. Why, oh why didn't he listen to me?

No necro, United over the six games in the Champions League have been absolutely terrible. We have a better team on paper than Benfica, but that doesn't count for crap if we don't perform.

lol, its not a particularly tough group.....and when you add in the fact that United have managed to get lucky with their opposition missing key players(Playing Villareal minus Riquelme and Forlan, for example), it just shows how poor this United team is.

Show them the £££ and they will come.

yeah but Chelsea are very good at that too, and also like going after
    Utd targets, but
seriousely I could'nt see an excellent player coming Like Ballack for instance, not the way their team is at the mo,
also I pity the next manager, she/he will have some job ahead of her/him.

I wonder how much United will get for Ferdinand now... :S

At least United don't have to worry about buying players that aren't cup-tied in Europe.

Did not deserve to go through, luck did not go with us, should have scored against Villareal and a deflection again tonite, but even with luck to many girls playing.
At least the Tuesday and Wednesday nites are free for golf!!!!! ;)

Home form was desperate, not beating 2 average sides was the downfall really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,510 ✭✭✭sprinkles

Fergie needs to step down at the end of the season. I don't see him getting any money in January as he won't be there to utilise it next year. They'll hold back money till the summer and a new manager (Hitzfelt prob).

Terrible result but in keeping with their form this season and their form int he CL in general over the past 2 years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,299 ✭✭✭Sandals

I find it hard to believe that Fergie will not be sacked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,064 ✭✭✭BKtje

Wanted to concentrate on the premiership anyway :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 635 ✭✭✭johnor

I dont think we'd be buying a big name till the summer anyhow, whichever big name we are targeting is probably playing in the CL still...therefore i dont think it would make a difference to the january transfer window. I still reckon we will end up buying 1/2 average midfielders in january and maybe a defender, left sided or central...

Cant see fergie getting the boot now, Id imagine hell be given 10-15 mil to rebuild in january and the glaziers will see how he uses it, reasses at the end of the season....

Still a bit shocked, we just havent looked dangerous like we used to! Sure even if we had qualified id be sceptical how far we'd go after that.....coulda done witht he cash tho
