    My thread was closed:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054860049
I am not really miffed but was curious to know if it was justified. I was hoping to see other posters (other than mods) interact in defense of the traveling community but the discussion never got to that stage. Whether you believe me or not, this thread was not an attempt at traveller bashing. And any venomous remark should have been dealt with according to board rules.

However Mods (not all) do seem to fall over themselves trying to defend the downtrodden, trying to outdo the sense of moral apprehension at the thought of a group being prejudiced.

Is boards then a fiefdom of left-leaning closed expression (antonym to open expression) because of mod censorship?

My reasons for closing that thread were in it. After Hours is not the place for such a thread, it'll just turn into crap.

By all means repost it in a more suitable forum.

The humanities forum like After Hours, but for serious discussion. As seamus said, repost it there. You seem coherent enough to be able to carry the discussion, but some on the AH board are not.

    Yes, try the traveller-bashing forum.

Assuming that this is what you think, how does it make you feel?

Thanks for letting me know that closed expression may be the opposite to open expression by the way. I was rather unsure of that myself.

Point taken Seamus and Steveire. I was unsure in the first place if AH was the right forum but hoped that it would be moved to the correct forum (but not closed). Probably will not repost it in Humanities, as it may be a bit too contentious.

I had to clarify it Sceptre because it didn't sound right to me? It was coming across more as a mathematical concept rather than the ability to practice open and free debate.

So I am getting the impression that the thread may not have been closed if it was posted elsewhere.

I would have, except that by the time I spotted it, there were loads of replies. :)

Looks like traveller bashing TBH. If you have a TV you need a license, even if your living on the street.

And that's a bad thing how?

To be honest, the tone of the thread was a bit "I am not a racialist, BUT..."

I was being a little sarcastic with the downtrodden comment.
To be honest, the tone of the thread was a bit "I am not a racialist, BUT..."
And this was the type of response that would have nourished an open discussion on the issue.
