Pressurised tank not enough to feed it, eh?
    Must be thirsty.

Here is where you need to go ....

Oscillating pumps activated by the engine's own vibration.
It generates such pressure you could mount the tank in the tail end.
Just screw the needle in until it stops flooding under the pressure and then leave it.
    :D

Building a Funtana 90 and want to reposition the tank further back so its over the CG. In doing so the line to engine may be to long so a fuel pump would be a safe choice.

Cheers, reckon there exactly what i need. Might go with the complete smoke system (Oscillating), it includes a pump.:)

    They really work well.
You will be amazed how much you have to screw n the needle all the same.
Good idea to get the all in smoke system, that way you have another option for another model if the present one comes to the end of it's days.

    BTW
there is another use for these pumps that nobody considers....
You can do a twin engine plane with ONE CENTRAL FUEL TANK, and a tee-piece from pump to both engines.
At one swoop most of the "twin engine with glowfuel engines" problems disappear.

Coolwings, have you used a regulator or oscillating, which is the better type of the two.
I see that when using the oscillating pump in a smoke system, it must be placed between the muffler and tank....differs from placing it between the carb and tank when used just as a fuel regulator.
Have yet to see a smoke system in action, is there anything else needed with that kit to produce smoke. Also, does it require a different type of fuel...one with a higher % of oil?

Neither, but a friend has an oscillating...for him it did the job just fine.

That is because to feed the engine you send the fuel to the carbie, but to make smoke you send the fuel to the manifol/exhaust, where it vaporises and turns to smoke coming out the exhaust.

Two questions there....all the fuel injection smoke systems I know are using kerosene/pariffin. This turns white in smoke form.
Best put in the exhaust close to your engine, so into manifold is better than into exhaust. BUT, it cools the engine by taking heat away, so if your engine is marginal at the moment, it will run cooler after the mod is in place. If that happens you have to add 5% more nitro, or get a hotter glowplug to compensate. Then its back to business as usual.

There are other smoke systems that don't use fuel injection (so suits glow or electric) .... like a cartridge you tape on and set fire to firework style.
    Here is a link...

It has the advantage of simplicity....but I wonder if things get too hot what happens....?
