    Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone is playing any of the following RPGs in their spare time - ADOM, TOME, Angband or NetHack, Moria, Rogue ?

I played a lot of ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery) - got very far with one character, but want to take a break from it and try out the Angband family. I'm leaning towards TOME (Troubles of Middle Earth) which is a bit like Lords of the Rings.
I never really got going on Nethack - I started with ADOM and stayed with that for a long time. One thing about Angband is that the dungeons are regenerated every time you revisited them which keeps things fresh I guess. I love the shops though and the idea of the town base.

Excuse me, If you haven't heard about these before you might be interested...

I haven't play Angband in a long time but what I like about this one is the way that you I customize multiple screens to fit around your playing style or what information is most important to you.
I find at 1280x1024 res you can fit screens across exactly. In this
    case I have:
    1. main play screen (top left) - currently in town
    2. Inventory (directly underneath)
    3. Wearing (underneath no. 2)
    4. Character Background (bottom left)
    5. Character Powers/Immunities (bottom right)
    6. Monster information (above no 5)

I also like the Dynamic updates across all screens as play progress.

One village Fool killed so far. Only starting out... :D

    NetHack
Awhile later. After killing some Denizens.... this is now the final layout setup! Allows for plenty of information to be displayed at all times without having to navigate from screen to screen.

Well... it's still being heavily worked and last release was in June and is quite beefed from what it originally was - Moria many years ago. When you think about it, the logic and rules behind the game is huge. Diablo's base was formed around this. There is a huge following with this game on the news groups rec.games.roguelike.angband. Give it a try. :) Have a look here: http://www.thangorodrim.net/

There are many variants springing from this!
