Every since playing Kingdom Hearts when I heard mini Wakka pronounce Tidus's name as Tee-dus I've been very confused as to what to call him. I've always been pronouncing his name as Tie-dus, and to be honest it sounds better.

So what is it actually and how do you pronounce it Tee-dus or Tie-dus?

How do you pronounce Tidus? 37 votes

On the FFX Making Of dvd the voice actors call him Tee-dus. So there you go, thats what it is.

But like you, I much prefer Tie-dus :/

I call him Tie-dus, though Tee-dus is probably right. But then again I called Tifa Tee-fa, and thought the real name was Ti-fa, but Advent Children seemed to side with me.

Somewhat like FFX itself then, which is just Tee-dee-us...

    Tee hee hee.

Anyway I call him Tie-dus. Tee-dus sounds bent, or at least benter than Tie-dus.

It's Tidus, therefore Tie-dus, we're talking about educationally subnormal Americans here aren't we?, the same ones who spell cheque "check"...

Blame Noah Webster for that i think...

Even though its Tee-Dus ill stick with my first pronunciation, Tide-Us... sounds better and goes with the watery theme anyway.

I always say it Tie-dus cause it sounds like the real name "Titus"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titus

Tydus is also a first name pronounced "Tie-dus" unfortunnately the Japs make up their own stuff... anyone remember "Quezacotl" what the fudge was up with that, i'm sure they pronounced it nothing like Quetzalcoatl on official Dvds etc

Given a choice, I would go for Tidus.

NTIKA, but is it miss_cheif or miss_chief? Or am I missing a lot?

(not a gamer, but have heard of FF).

    Not your ornery onager

I think it's Tee-Dus (because of the official DVD). But, who cares, call him what you want him to.

No, no, no, no! Kingdom Hearts was one of the highlights of the PS2 and one of the best action games ever. Sure the first two worlds weren't all that great but after that the action was a match for DMC or GoW. Even with the Disney license they didn't sell out and gave us a dark and very satisfying story and a rock hard game. Please no more uttering blasphemies.

Japanese accent, just like the way they pronounce 'Alucard' as 'Arucard'
