I haven't had much experience with Buletproof but yes it can be done. I would use Filezilla, simple easy and secure.

Please, give up trying

Check the installation:
Can you install it without error?
Can you access it locally?

Check access:
Can you then access it via telnet?
Is the port open/fwd'd on the router?
