Hello people, I'm new, just been lurking for a while. Thought somebody might know if the Certain Death Cafe is still in existance? It used to be based in North Strand serving Vegan food at ridiculously low prices cos the staff were volunteers. I just found some links to it on other websites but their own site hasn't been updated in months. Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone knew what the story was before I dragged my bum all the way accross the city! Oh..it only opened on Wednesdays and Sundays too!

'fraid not. I don't know the full story but I think the landlord found out that people were living there and kicked them out. The new home of the Bad Books library is going to be in that squatty looking house with the bicycle wheel and spray paint on the door in Dublin. I can't tell you the name of the street as I haven't a clue about the names of streets in Dublin but you know the one I mean? Who knows, maybe the café will be up and running in there again when the get the place sorted out.

Some of the kids who used to run that place are on here if you want to ask them. Beware of the high levels of sarcasm on this board though! :D

Cheers, yeah I know the place, it's on Abbey St, I've wondered what goes on in there many a time.

Ta for the sarcasm warning, made me chuckle! I strangely enough, lost my cynicism as I got older, so I may indeed get trampled by the cooler than cool crowd. Better brace meself!

No prob. It's not too bad of a place. It's just the type of forum where you get 10 "joke" answers for every serious one.
