Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm going to need to take some footage from a non-copyprotected DVD into Final Cut Pro for a project I'm working on.

Any recommendations on DVD ripping software that I can download? Free trial or freeware is prefarable.

Try Mac the ripper. Bloody great program!

mac the ripper will only pull off the dvd onto disk. You'll also need something to either turn it into an AVI file. There's a piece of software called DVD2OneX this will make an avi file, you can then import this into FCP.

Other handy utilities for doing this on the mac are Mencoder and Mplayer and FFmpeg.
