    The right direction - maybe

Cycleogical sell a Fuji track bike which is reasonably priced.

The Fuji's not too bad, though the bottom bracket will probably need replacing quite early on. If you can get hold of a frame with horiziontal drop-outs, why not build up your own (unless it is actually for the track?)

I had a look at the new langster by specialized. It doesn't look too bad.

    I'm heading into cycleways tomorrow.
They seem to be the same price everywhere!

I was considering a Langster too - lovely looking bikes and a good price. I decided to build a fixed gear from spare parts instead and it's ended up costing the same amount or more.

If you're going for a new bike, i would highly recommend the On-one il pompino complete bike for STG450. Its a steel frame, which is much more comfy, much better spec, better looking, better handling too.

Mind you, if you're thinking about using it on the track, a langster might be better.

Evans cycles in the UK, also import the USA Bianchi pista for STG399, which looks really neat.http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=60795
