    If Dutch Gold is so bad (and I've never had it) why do they have trendy Beetles with large cans sticking out ?

    That looks like they are trying to appeal to a Beetle driving aspirational type audience...

    Well maybe if its got beetles on it, maybe it's informing us that it should only be used as an insecticide and is not fit for consumption!, back to the white spirit I guess..

    Nah, Dutch Gold is just piss. There's plenty of wine that is piss, obviously, (Buckfast, anyone?) but nobody's saying "all beer is piss" here.

    For those of you who've come lately to this argument, and those of you who've come lately generally, Dutch Gold is not banned on the B/W/S board.

    It used to be, but apparently lots of posters thing it's da bomb, and want to talk about it. QED, they get to talk about it.

    Oh - and one last thing.

    I have never, ever said that people who drink Dutch Gold are scumbags, poor, or students. Neither have I said that the B/W/S forum is for elitist snobs who think they're better than everybody else.

    I will say this though - if I wanted to drink cheap lager I'd go for Bier d'Alsace from Tesco every time.
