    Apologies if this question is not relevant to this forum. Was just enquiring as to what satellite does the Eircom satellite broadband internet scheme broadcast from?

    Not Sky.

    Two way Satellite Broadband needs a special unit on the Dish anyway.
    One way Satellite is not really broadband at all as you still use the phone and its charges!

    See
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=259
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=60

    For more information about Wireless, Satellite, Cable and Phone line based Broadband.

    Only go for actual Satellite Broadband if
    * You are rich
    * You are desparate
    * You can't get anything else.

    Eircom don't actually do it at all. They are just reselling someone else's service so as to tell Comreg (The Government) that they have 100% coverage.

    Almost anyone else is much cheaper for the same thing.

    The forum you posted in is really for Satellite TV and Radio. I could have left it there. But I'm experimenting with my new buttons so I hope it is OK to move you to Broadband.
