normal BT broadband using a eircom netopia wirelass modem

Hi guys

I am a newbe and have just got the BT broadband package,all works great.

However at my work on friday the IT guy and he gave me a eircom netopia wireless modem and eircom driver cd. I swaped modems over and of course it would not work. Can anybody help do I need to get drivers on the web and then change the TCip codes??

Appreciate any help.

Click on the link for instructions... just substitute the netopia manual instructions for steps 1 and 2. You need to find out the IP address for the eircom wireless modem and also the default login and password.

Step 3 onwards should be the same with some minor variations in point 6 and 7.

Download the netopia manual from the net if you don't have it.

Thanks Mikeruurds, I have downloaded the netopia manual at work. It great to know that in principle there is no compatibility problem and its just a matter on configuring the modem. I will try to do as you suggested over the next few days. Most likely I may have to ask your advice again!

No worries. If you need advice just send me a PM. I recently set up a new wireless network at home with a Dlink router, a laptop and my PC which has a wireless card... so it's still pretty fresh in my mind Only took me about 15 minutes.
