    Hi there,

I just bought a new car radio this one: http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20051219.p.Radio

The problem is when i took out my sony radio the large block connection is different and will not find is there converters to be had or does anybody on boards.ie fit radios and can help.

    Cheers,
    TCP/IP

I had the same problem when putting a radio into my Mitsubishi Mirage (Jap import)... you'll get adapters in Halfords - AutoLeads cable you're looking for ; about €15

If you go here http://www.caraudio.ie/ and type in "Harness" in the search by description on the left. You are looking for a "wiring harness adaptor" Then you will be able to pick one by the model of your car. But the new radio has to have an ISO standard connector... Most spurious radios have this connection as far as I know.

Ring Halfords or else e-mail caraudio.ie and see what they say...

What's the EQ like on it... decent parametric or preset "rock, pop, classic" type thing? One of a few concerns about those unheard-of brands.

for 100 euro you cant go wrong with a cd player that reads USB/Memory card

...but if the sound is crap what's the point.

I think the USB connection/memory card is a bit of a gimick to be honest. It will only work with some MP3 players and flash drives. You'd be better with a line/aux in port.
