To remove the volume restriction just use the the process below: (Don't know if this has been posted before, but its fairly cool and easy to do). :D

    **************************************

Start the player. Start playing a song. Turn the HOLD function on by sliding the swich at the top. Then, Hold the SEARCH/MENU button and enter the following button sequence:

RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, UP, DOWN.

Let go of all the buttons, and put the HOLD switch back to its original position - The backlight will cut out and you'll be in the service menu with "POWER" displayed.

Press DOWN twice to select “OTHERS” and press RIGHT to get into the menu.

Press UP 4 times to get to SP SET (Sound Pressure Setting).

Press PLAY/PAUSE to display the current setting (default is “ON”)
Then press SEARCH/MENU to toggle the option ON or OFF (OFF turns the volume limiter OFF – which is what we all want…).

Press PLAY to preserve setting and return to SP SET screen, then press and hold STOP (power on/off button) to switch off the player.

When you next switch on, the volume restrictions will have been lifted.

As a one off, you will have to now reset the some of the OPTIONS as, for some curious reason, BACKLIGHT will be set to OFF, PLAYMODE will be set to ONE SONG and REPEAT will be set to ON.
