is there any firmware update available that makes the new ipod video compatable with firewire for connection to computer. or is it not that simple... because the ipod will charge through the charger with a firewire cable but when i plug the ipod into the computer it says that firewire is not supported..

    any ideas??
    cheers

if any firmware is made to support firewire then it won't be made by apple. they've been slowly turning their backs on it in favour of usb for the last year

    Hey sexy

Apparently, Apple got rid of All forms of firewire regconition in the chipset so unless you mod it yourself, I don't think so.

You can get this from the apple site for $13 of something like that.

from the specs of that pocketdock:

This PocketDock is compatible with the following iPods:
    • 3G iPod (touch-wheel)
    • 4G iPod (click-wheel)
    • 5G iPod (video) [1]
    • iPod photo
    • iPod mini
    • iPod nano [1]

    1. supports FireWire only for charging, not for syncing

so disaster on the ipod video front...

    cheers anyway..
