    Nondenominational festive lights.. pffft!

oh pipe down and be a little bit more tolerant of others beliefs.

if someone wants to have christmas lights, then let them.
if someone wants to think of christmas as something other than a religious festival, then let them.

although, i am at a loss as to how one would ensure that lights were shown as nondenominational as opposed to mistaken as just plain old christmas lights.

although, i must admit, i am surprised at google for their mouse, but who knows, im sure they have the powah to change their google image everyday.
they are very clever those googlers....

A civilisation before the romans are responsible for roads.
    Keep up to date man!

keep up to date with the monty python in jokes....

Reg: And what have they ever given us in return?
    Revolutionary I: The aqueduct?
    Reg: What?
    Revolutionary I: The aqueduct.
Reg: Oh. Yeah, yeah, they did give us that, ah, that's true, yeah.
    Revolutionary II: And the sanitation.
Loretta: Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like.
Reg: Yeah, all right, I'll grant you the aqueduct and sanitation, the two things the Romans have done.
    Matthias: And the roads.
Reg: Oh, yeah, obviously the roads. I mean the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the
    aqueduct, and the roads...
    Revolutionary III: Irrigation.
    Revolutionary I: Medicine.
    Revolutionary IV: Education.
Reg: Yeah, yeah, all right, fair enough.
    Revolutionary V: And the wine.
All revolutionaries except Reg: Oh, yeah! Right!
Rogers: Yeah! Yeah, that's something we'd really miss Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.
    Revolutionary VI: Public bathes.
Loretta: And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg.
Rogers: Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it; they're the only ones who could in a place like this.
All revolutionaries except Reg: Hahaha...all right...
Reg: All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water
system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
    Revolutionary I: Brought peace?
    Reg: Oh, peace! Shut up!

By not having santas, snowmen, stars, reindeers, or little baby jesus'.

All of the festivals at this time of year have lights assicated with them,
generic pretty coloured lights would have people assoicate them with what ever thier belifes or lack of beliefs leads them.

Ever since we entered Europe there has been a flood of mice into the country, many of whom are willing to work long hard hours for little pay in our nursery rhymes and fast food outlets.

In conclusion, Irish people dislike mice.

The poppy is a sign of British imperialism. Hundreds and thousands of people have died, suffered and their family lives destroyed because of the actions of the most viscious empire the world has ever seen.

Ireland is a predominantly Catholic country, and therefore Christmas is celebrated BY THE MAJORITY as a Christian festival and not as a "holiday". Seeing, that Google have an Irish domain and even supply Google in Irish, I think they could have wished me a happy Christmas without offending the rest of the world.

We have Coca Cola and Budweiser to thank for this "holiday" nonsence. I saw a McDonalds ad the other day and was glad I was wished a Happy Christmas and not a happy "holidays".

Even though I don't pay to use google, I think I'm still considered a customer as a user, as without me they wouldn't make any money.

lol... i just think your post is a sign of immature anti english bigotry.

My grandfather also fought in the First World war and he told me that any decent Irishman should never have any qualm wearing the poppy in respect to the many thousands of Irishmen who lost their lifes fighting in the world wars

I hate the way google has a setFocus() function on the search box.

i.e. If you have google as your homepage, the cursor automatically goes into the search box as soon as the page loads. So those of us who don't touch type are banging away feverishly at the keyobard only to look up and see that half of the web address is in the address bar and the other half is in the google search box.

    Grrrrrrr.

Thats the best part about the google site. loads up and the cursor is already there to type. No need to click in the box. Its really fast.

Oh and to the original post.

Ok then your raving nutter. who tf cares if google havent decorated their site up to the max.
Does it affect your search? NO. Does it improve anything at all really? NO

    But it's a worldwide site.

Google is not a worldwide site!

    www.google.ie - is Irish
    www.google.com - is American
    www.google.co.uk - is Bristish
    www.google.de - is German
    www.google.fr - is french
    www.google.pl - is Polish
    www.google.com.tr - is Turkish

every google site is designed for a certain country! Some people in Ireland tend to use the American one for some reason, but I leave that for the Americans to use, and I use the Irish... which usually runs quicker!
Plus these things are telling a story.. click into it! Its like and advent calender!!!

    Yes it is.
    www.google.ie - is Irish
    www.google.com - is American
    www.google.co.uk - is Bristish
    www.google.de - is German
    www.google.fr - is french
    www.google.pl - is Polish
    www.google.com.tr - is Turkish
They not Irish, British, German, French, Polish or Turkish. They're American, all of them, with slants towards the countries in question.

They all route back to the same servers (216.239.59.*), they all use the same index. All thats different is they just have slight modifications that tweak the pages and results in favour of certain nationalities.
every google site is designed for a certain country!
Reread the above if you still don't get it.
Some people in Ireland tend to use the American one for some reason, but I leave that for the Americans to use, and I use the Irish... which usually runs quicker!
There is nothing faster about using one site over another, it all goes back to the US. You're trying to percieve it as being faster. You do know that unless you specifically tell it to look for pages from Ireland only, you are searching through the exact same index?

I think at least the Irish site should be Christmas themed.
