Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    December 30th

    Jon Averill

    Tickets €20 from Carbon records

    (advance purchase highly advisable)

Mylo’s ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’ album has now sold over 300,000 albums
in the and to celebrate its success, a special version of the album
is came out in May exactly one year from it’s release, that includes
a couple of extra treats and will be available on vinyl as a limited
    edition for the first time.

Myles MacInnes, a 25-year-old Scot from the Isle Of Skye has a
trajectory that takes in a childhood on the Isle of Skye, low life in
London and Paris and academia in Oxford and Los Angeles. In 2001 he
returned to Scotland with one purpose - to submerge himself in music.
Three years on from that, he released his debut album in 2004, that
has already shifted in excess of 100,000 in the UK in its first year.
Destroy Rock & Roll' takes its listeners on a journey from high-
octane guitar chords, heavy-duty beats and raucous vocals such as
classic track 'Drop The Pressure', while 'In My Arms' harks back to
his soft rock radio days of listening to Atlantic 252; well, living
in Skye, he couldn’t be too choosy about his source of music!
Music continued to part of his life when he left the island to go to
Oxford University. A couple of years later, he found himself taking
up a scholarship to do a Philosophy PhD at UCLA, California. After a
year inspired by his experiences travelling along the west coast,
Myles differed from UCLA and returned to Skye to start making records
of his own. With influences ranging from seventies intellectuals
Steely Dan and eighties soft-rockers Toto to current artists such as
Zongamin and Franz Ferdinand, it’s no wonder the results are so
    startling.
Following the release of his debut 7", 'Destroy Rock & Roll' in May
2003, the response to Mylo was overwhelming. The Face described him
as “Scotland’s answer to Royksopp”, the NME declared him as the one
to watch on its release in 2004. With massive plays and support from
radio jocks like Pete Tong and Mary Anne Hobbs and exposure in the
discos with Erol Alkan, Tiga, Laurent Garnier, X-Press 2, Freeform
Five and Soulwax – the young Scot quickly gained an army of fans.
"Destroy Rock & Roll' was a refreshing and startling debut that shows
MacInnes is equally happy warming the soul as he is rocking the
dancefloor and is definitely a long-player that rivals the likes of
Air’s “Moon Safari”, Daft Punk’s “Homework” and Royksopp’s “Melody AM.

Hear exclusive interview with Mylo on Blue radio on Spin 1038 this Friday 23rd
