I am looking for two scripts GPL if possible and PHP that I haven;t been able to find anywhere, first is somesort of online diary where you can search by day and time and see whats pencilled in for that, second is an onlin ezine script

They both sound like applications to me

Wordpress should cover you for all of that, well, not sure about the "journal" function, though I think it's there.
