Well, what is the rarest car you have seen on the road - not on the news or in a pic, but actually on the road. This doesnt include the Enzo at the Park 2 years ago either. Or anything in the UK/europe/states etc.
For me its gotta be a RR Phantom, in Ballsbridge. Or perhaps a ferrari 288gto a few years back in Dublin (irvines maybe).

I got a spin in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang up and down the duel carriageway out of Cork about 12 or 15 years ago, I'd say thats as rare as it gets. Even though there were 4 or 5 cars built for the film there's only one on the road.
It was brilliant the man who owns/drives it was cursing the roads back then too.:D

A DeLorean used to be parked daily in the Dublin fruit market early in the morning usually in Little Britain street. I don't know if it's still there as i don't be in regularly now.

Saw a blue italian registered Ferrari F430 in Donnybrook earlier this year and a black 04 D Gallardo on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham but the rarest i've seen on the road is the Carrera GT that Des Cullen had for sale last year.

I didn't think roads would be a problem for a car that can fly:D

Here's pics of the blue F430 I saw. I didn't take these. Des Cullen had it for sale earlier this year. Someone from Liverpool FC was supposed to be buying it but that never happened. The 'Revo 250' supercar club have it now. Its on the cover of this months 'Evo' magazine.

Does anyone know if the Vehicle Registration Office releases statistics of vehicles registered? Can one find out how many of a particular model are registered? I'd love to know how many Bentley Continentals there are as they seem to be everywhere.

360s, gallardos arent all that rare, a murcielago is though... or an f anything. Must say that vantage looks savage.

Are we talking about rare _new_ cars?

If so, I'd imagine the silver '04 Maserati Quattroporte that's around Galway now and then is reasonably rare (because most people who can afford a Maserati will buy a Ferrari or something else instead :) )

If we're talking rare cars, well, there's a 70-ish reg Opel GT (white with black "racing stripes") nipping through Galway relatively regularly, which I'd say is pretty rare at this stage?

Other than that, don't know, offhand (though got some pretty unexpected results when I googled the Porsche 356 just now out of idle curiosity - children, avert your eyes  ) ... ehm, would the black BMW 850 CSi I see from time to time around town count?

I think Kersh means either new or old. A lot of people seem to be picking
just the most expensive cars they have seen. For example, as apparently there are 5 or 6 Maybachs in Ireland already, can it truly be considered that rare?
