ok i picked up a usb wifi dongle with a new pc.

Now its plugged in and installed as per instructions. But i am unsure on how to make it work.

-do dongles only recieve wireless connections, or should they work both ways.

If they work both ways. How does one set it up to share a cable connection with other computers in wireless.

You can use the adaptor to create an ad-hoc connection..
After that, it depends on your OS..and what broadband you have.. is the router connected to your PC via Ethernet or USB..?

For Windows: you control the card/connection from Network Connections (Via Control Panel)
You should also see a small icon in the taskbar (next to the clock..)
For example: you can enable Internet Connection Sharing with XP..
