I'd guess your best bet would be to meet up at one of the social thingy's that happen on here

I know there are a fair few members here who meet up for a boards beer every so often

LaLuna.... i admire the fact you had the honesty to say you "let a lot of people down in the past while in the relationship and lost many friends along the way."

But its not on most peoples' priorities to want to meet someone who actively choose to do such a thing, or someone who let important friendships die through neglect.

Also, you said you just came out of "a long-term relationship - very unhealthy relationship". Would one want to meet someone who stayed in an unhealthy relationship for so long? If it was so unhealthy, you should have made it a short-term relationship. You are responsible for your actions. You choose to stay in it for so long.

I think your desire to meet new people "in the same boat" as you is another poor decision. You need to sort yourself out first...i can only read between the few lines you've written but i think your time would be better spent looking inwards. Then when you are a more complete person you will then see the shining light comming from the few others in our society who have reached enlightenment....(i havent reached enlightenment yet, but im still trying). Choose them to be your friends.

If you think my message is offensive and you wish to tell me off then do so. I want you to know that no offense was intended. I believe that my insight might help you heal a little bit quicker.
