This thread has developed into a good debate of the issues rather than the usual Bash SF or Bash McDowell because you are in one camp or the other...

Regarding the CPI and the governments possible distaste for them,thats fair comment but theres nothing really that they can do about them.
They do have in my opinion a valid argument in relation to Connolly.

If the CPI ever uncovered something it will have to fly on its own.
Connolly is unfortunately making a muck of them and to be frank(no pun intended) he should get up off his árse and resign and not let himself be damaging what is in essence a good and usefull tool OR he should show where he was in April 2001.
