I found this rather worrying article linked on another website, but it seems a little biased in it's wording, and though I've searched a bit for other sources that corroborate this story, I can't find too many. Does anyone know any more about this? I'm a little perplexed that this wouldn't be huge news (Queue Jewish media conspiracy nutjobs coming out of the woodwork).

But if anyone has anything serious to offer on this, I'd be appreciative. As I've said, this article has been worrying.

From what I can gather the nurses admitted to infecting children with AIDs, but are now saying it was under torture that they confessed.

I'm not sure if they also admitted to it being a Mossad plot or if that's just a theory, but CNN also throws the CIA into the mix (scroll wayyyy down to the last story):

(CNN) -- The Libyan Supreme court overturned the death sentences of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor convicted of infecting hundreds of children with the HIV virus, according to Libya's official news agency.

Defense lawyers argued their convictions were based on confessions made under torture.

The Supreme Court sent the case down to a lower court for retrial based on problems with the initial indictments, according to LJBC.

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, who initially accused them of carrying out a CIA and Israeli Mossad plot to destabilize his government by spreading HIV, has said that if the confessions were the result of torture then the convictions should be voided.

Independent reports put the number of children's deaths at 48. (Posted 5:31 a.m.)

edit: seemingly the Mossad/CIA accusation was made by Gaddafi, and the nurses defense witnesses (including Prof. Luc Montaignier, the man who discovered AIDs) concluded that the outbreak was from poor hygeine and nothing else.

Gadhafi has a personal bodyguard of female soldiers dressed in various shades of military gear, whatever takes his fancy or maybe it's based on season.

Mossad do not need to destabilise that country.

After reading it methinks it is typical anti-Israeli propoganda. But again a lot of idiots in this world will take it for gospel that and Big foot etc.

If anyone would do it, it would be most likely the corrupt Arab regimes in the middle east and the world.

Gadhafi didn't make the accusation. Appears it is a common urban legend. But appears to be more an issue of neglect on the hospital staff then any conspiracy.

Thanks guys. I was taking that article with a pinch of salt, hence looking for clarification on it.

The story has nothing to do with this thread.

Even so from what I could dig up it is not a problem with the Doctors as such but a certain group who are getting paid by companies to test products.

Oddly enough all reports come via a report by Jerusalem Post, which after checking the archives I was unable to find any stories on it (various keywords).
