Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Belkin Wireless Network Slow ?

    Hi Guys,

    I have a Belkin Wireless Access Point ADSL Router, my problem is this:

    When i connect to my wireless network using my laptop with a belkin pcmica card i initally will connect at the proper speed, however after a few minutes this soon turns into 1.0mbps, the WAP i have says it will support 54mbps and so does the card.

    Its not as if the card is a million miles away either, as the crow would fly its litterally 10 feet away if even; there is a wall inbetween.

    When i look at the belkin wireless utility on the computer it tells me that:

    Connection speed: 1.0mbps

    Signal: 75%

    Noise: 95db

    Only thing worth noting is that the router is bridged to my wired network to make one logical network;

    Anyone know whats going wrong ?

    Download netstumbler: http://www.netstumbler.com/

    Scan for other wireless networks on the same/close channels to the one you're using.

    Other wireless devices such as cordless phones can also create interference.

    In netstumbler, pay particular attention to the S/N Ratio. The higher the better - if you get a low or no value for this ratio, try changing channels in your wireless router's setup.

    Yeah, I've seen that before, it wrecked my head. The second entry there seems to be your own network card creating a ghost image.

    Check your wireless network settings, and set your card to use only Infrastructure networks, and ensure that your settings for The Mobtrix are set to use access points only.
