Great song, great video. Bowie in form.

God I'd totally forgotten I had the Hours album on cassette, must dig it out. If I recall though, side 1 (incl. this song) was excellent but side 2 was pretty poor

Agree with Halloween Jack. Teenage Wildlife is a beautiful song. I love Fripp's guitar on it. "A real life adventure worth more than pieces of gold." Beautiful.
There's too many songs to mention really. Here's another beauty:

Best Bowie song? Depends on what week it is and what mood your in. :)

My personal favourite which I return to time and again would be 'All the Madmen'. It's a perfect expression of the battle between creativity and social exclusion. I love this fan-made video, especially the comment the editor left; "the video is pretty sloppy but i'm sick and tired of working on it..." Brilliant. :)

    Pick just one???

Impossible.... Bowie is just the best.

Anyway, here are just a few of my favourites...

    Starman ( my real fave)
    Rebel rebel
    Life on Mars
    Modern Love

I could go on - but as you all know they are all great.

Any song of the sound track of Christiane F, wir kinder von Bahnhof Zoo.

The man had his best period in the mid 70's while in Berlin.

Seen him many times live, last time here in Dublin in The Point.

There's an amazing version of Bowie performing Let Me Sleep Beside You at the Beeb. I absolutely love it.

Would provide a link but I'm in work and can only get onto a handful of sites.

Started listening to Bowie again after visiting this thread. I've Bowie 69-74, 74-79, Bowie at the beeb, Best of Bowie, Ziggy and Hunky Dory. What other Bowie albums would people recommend?

    1. "Amsterdam", omitted from the Ziggy Stardust album in favour of Starman.
    2. "Can you hear me" from Young Americans
    3. "Lady Stardust" from Ziggy Stardust
    4. "Wild is the Wind" from Station to Station
    5. "Five Years" from Ziggy Stardust

Seconded. Over 10 minutes of pure class.

Honorable mention to 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Wild is the Wind' for croonage value. The instrumentals on Low are brilliant as well, but props has to go to Eno for at least 50% of that.

Always had a soft spot for 'Absolute Beginners' too.

“Time Will Crawl” is a great song from an otherwise poor album, got an excellent alternative version of it on a free CD in a newspaper a few years ago. Always liked “This Is Not America” too.

....its not the side effects of the cocaine, I'm thinking that it must be love

    Station To Station

Cat People gets an honourable mention (used to great effect in Inglourious Basterds).

    Young Americans for vocal acrobatics.

Anyone else like the alternative version of "candidate" that was on the CD re-issue of Diamond Dogs?

That one has always stuck with me, the lazy beat and the exhausted tone. I love it :).

The first LP is much underrated - great slice of swinging London.
