Hey can you have your own custom presets? I like to have my screen brighter than usual for, say, the xBox 360 cause some of the games are quite dark, and change it again for general tv broadcast.

also is there much difference between this and the panasonic equivalent? apart from the price of course. The Pansonic is the TX-32LXD52, i'm undecided between the two.

    Thanks,

As Sparky-s pointed out you can alter the factory shipped presets so you can have up to four different picture quality settings. The inputs can use any one of these independantly of each other so for instance on component with the Xbox 360 you can use your modded preset with a higher brightness and use a different modded preset for the other inputs like S-video or Scart etc.

As for the Panasonic dont really know there is a thread on it at the AvForums if thats any help.

I don't think I'd want to buy something this big/expensive on the web. The 32R41 was €1455 in Power City today ... hmmm tempting ...!;) But is it worth paying more for the 8ms refresh rate?

Ordered mine for Komplett on Tuesday... Hopefully should have it Friday/Monday.. I'll keep ya posted.

I just ordered the new version of this screen on Komplett. The LE26M51B
    I got the last one.

    I think the 26R has 16bit color while the M has 24bit.

5000:1 is better, but id say thats dynamic contrast, not real contrast.

In terms of why, a higher number to 1 means a better black level, in other words your blacks wont be grey.

    Wikipedia is your god ;)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrast_ratio

I just ordered Sky so won't be able to answer you for a couple of weeks until I get it. I haven't had a good chance to play around with the TV yet, but had a quick flick through The Fifth Element DVD and it looks awesome!!!!:D

i use the following settings for sky digital

    ok where to begin :D

Sky plus via RGB scart, (Ext1)

Mode standard (modified) (i use this mainly for all tv watching)
    • Contrast 100
    • Brightness 58
    • Sharpness 45
    • Colour 52
    • Colour tone Warm2
    Digital NR off
    Dynamic Contrast off
    Brightness sensor on

    DVD via HDMI
I use Standard again for this

You may need to adjust the settings yourself for personal preference, but the rule i use is
    • Set the colour down to 0 (black and white)
    • adjust contrast and brightness till the picture is acceptable
    • bring the colour back up to your desired level

thats for the 41 model, the 51 may be slightly different but near enough
