Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jason Byrne rejects Djurgardens, deal off

    From the Shels website
    Byrne decides to stay

Jason Byrne says no to transfer

With one key player on the move today, Shelbourne were boosted by the news that influential striker Jason Byrne has turned down the offer to move to Djurgardens of Sweden.

In the past few weeks, the deal has been on and off but in the end Byrne decided that it was best he stayed with Shelbourne Football Club.

Speaking to Shelsweb tonight, Pat Fenlon expressed his delight at keeping the highly rated striker at the club, especially after Wesley Hoolahan departed for Livingston today.

There should be some more transfer news over the weekend.

Excellent :D I'm still gutted over weso, but Byrne staying is certinaly some excellent compensation. And even better, it was he himself who turned down the move not the club. That's a great sign, the offer had been accepted by Shels. That really underlines his committment :)

Also a good sign for the league that one of our players would reject such a move.

    Agree with all of that.

At least there is a little bit of light left at the end of the tunnel. Apparently there are a couple of transfers to be confirmed over the next few days, I'm "guessing" Dillon will be one.

Dillon had better be one! ;)

Fantastic news about Jayo! Absolutely delighted! Even more so in that he himself rejected it, and chose to stay at Shelbourne (lets get him on a new longer contract, 2 years he has left isn't it?)! :D Just cranked on the Polyphonic Spree now and I'm grinning like a mad hatter! Happy New Year all! :D:D:D

Praying for Dillon...... we need a late Christams present badly!

Well fantastic news about Jayo ''staying'' but as we all know Shels are very much prepared to sell him for peanuts like they have done with Wes and anyone can in during the transfer window. Don't get your hopes up yet!

Fair play to him for turning down the move. It cn only help to stregthen the league if our best players stay.
