Insulating integral garage ceiling when room above it

    Is there a building regulation re the above? Should the garage ceiling/bedroom floor be insulated when the garage is integral?

    Geegee, we willl have to start charging with all these questions. :D

    How well is the garage sealed from the weather?

    Personally I would insulate (if the garage door is being left open for extended periods), but I'm not sure if there is an absolute need.

    Importantly make sure there is adequate fireproofing between garage and living / sleeping accommodation.

    yes this should be insulated to the same standard as a ground floor.

    depending on the shape this is probably about 65mm of kingspan or xtratherm. contact either company and they'll calculate the exact requirement.
