Reina's problems with crosses has come back to haunt us and has handed the lead to Bolton. 1-0 down away from home after 10 mins, a test for Liverpool.

Liverpools team:

S Finnan, J Carragher, S Hyypia, D Traore
S Gerrard, D Hamann, M Sissoko, H Kewell
F Sinama Pongolle, P Crouch

This is a weak selection in my opinion. No Warnock or Riise, or Alonso, Gerrard limite by being on the right, perhaps. Pongolle has not set the world on fire. This will require big games by Gerrard ad Hamman, and Kewell and Crouch will have to perform.

Looking like the winning run is going to go today .....

sounds like we'll still get something from this, but my recent defence of FSP among my friends seems stupid now. whats wrong with cisse???

and why toure? radio5 said it was to deal with long throws as he has height although risse is just as good in tha air and offers more in an attacking sense.

The Liverpool bench seems stronger than many of the players that are on:
J Riise, D Cisse, S Luis Garcia, X Alonso ...

Liverpool are coming into the game more, but two goals will be hard to come by. Its about 4 attempts on target out of 5 each. Crouch and Carra are also on yellow, the latter for a tussle with Diouf.

I think FSP needs more run-outs from the bench but when he gets those chances he needs to use his pace and make or score some goals. He is in no-mans land in this current formation and is not contributing. Cisse is a better option, even with his deficiencies.

Traore can do a job in the physical sense and perhaps as Bolton are renowned as a physical team, Rafa has selected both Sissoko and Traore to "get stuck in".

Its now half-time, its been 50-50, apart from the goal which will go down as a Liverpool error rather than Bolton creativity.

Rafa has made the error of allowing Boltons style (cough) to dictate his selection, he must get some creativity on the pitch. Listening to the various match reports it sounds like the heavy schedule has hit the players hard today with plenty of subpar peformances.

Pongolle is now wide right with Gerrard supporting Crouch.

we should have played a more offensive formation as united did, if you use pace and just keep running at them they'll tire quickly, but rafa knows what hes doing...

Correctamundo. Diouf fell over during a shoulder challenge with Carra who then kicked the ball at his head (think that was what the yellow was for). Diouf then squared up to Carra who just looked back at him blankly - "like whatta gonna do?". Then all the players gathered round like flies to a pile of sh*t.

Carra was lucky not to give away a peno though earlier. Bolton spoiling tactics are getting on liverpool nerves.

My stream has gone to crap for the half time break....

There is no defence for ever playing Troare. I wouldnt play him if Riise and Warnock had 5 (yes i do mean 5, just to be certain)broken legs between them.
