Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I have a wireless network between a pc and a laptop, i used to stream songs and music from one to the other which worked fine. Then suddenly my newer files that were put into the shared folders wont share but the ones that always worked will. Its weird and I don't think I did anything to settings that should have upset this(but maybe im wrong).

So would anyone know why this might be happening or what settings to check to check to see if a firewall etc might be stopping the newer files?

Thanks a million for any help you could offer

ahhhhh...what does that mean? The laptop can see the newer files on the list of the folder but just wont access them to play them. This tie into what you mean?

    Hmmmmm no.
Whats the machines? Windows XP Proyeah?

ya both xp pro. It seems pretty weird that it would suddenly decide to block new files from this folder but leave the olde ones through, seems like some change in the firewall since it might remember that I allowed the other files through. But then i dont know that of course

No that doesnt make sense. Try putting them in a NEW shared folder and trying again

that worked which is really strange. So should i now move all the files into a new one?

You could just check/change the permissions on the 'new files in the old folder'...

    (it's not interference.. :))

Yes but repairing them in XP can have little or no effect in my experience, same problen as this happened ages ago when i was still using Pro as a fileserver.

Thanks a million for that guys, glad i got that folder streaming again. I'll probably just move them but how would I try to fix if I wanted to?
    Thanks again

Right click on the folder go to sharing and click on the permissions button and ensure everyone has permissions to access the files
