Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Now. i dont eat much now.. i mean i dont eat chocolat and crisps, sweets etc ever second.

on school days, i dont have breakfast, to freaking early, just a glass of water, and a vitamin tablet.

Break @ school is somtimes a packat of low fat crisps. but usualy i dont have anything.

For lunch @ school im never hungry, you may think its crazy i dont eat @ school, but its not, im just not hungry.

@ home for dinner, usaly some meat, salad and veg of some sort.

I usalay drink a bottle of Orange juice.

Now. if you can tell me what i can do, it would be great.

the only thinh i have a problem with, is running, i just dont like it. i can do it, but hate it. prefer the bike or exerscie.

Fair play on not gorging on ****ty foods its all i did in school.
Try doing situps every night to tone ur stomach if that isnt your cup of tea i suggest joining a local gymn and requesting advice from the specialists.

It might sounds strange, but i think you should actually eat more...

Basically you are from what im seeing only eating one meal a day. your body needs more food than that, and also it will start to boost your motabilism. With that and the excersise you probable have nothing to worry about. I know what im saying sounds strange, but it works, i wanted to loose weight, and i was told to eat more food, basically i was doing what your doing which is not eating, once i started eating more,i had a lot more energy and the weight started to drop. I wasnt excersising really, but just that simple change it made all the difference, weird i know, but worth a try ;):p

OK, regardless of what you would like to believe, you can't spot reduce fat.

But given your height and weight, you're not fat. You're not even close. So there's no need to think about where you should cut what out of your diet. Chances are, all you need is some toning. You'll find most men/boys who aren't fat, but who don't do any exercise, still are a little "flabby" on the chest and stomach. I use "flabby" in the loosest possible sense of the word.

I'd recommend convincing a mate to join a martial arts club. You'll do quite a bit of exercise that doesn't involve weights, but will tone you up, and you'll have a bit of craic.

This site might help you, as it show how many calories you've consumed, where they came from and how many calories you've burnt off from excersise. And it's free!http://www.fitday.com

I know you said you don't enjoy running, but it could be one of the best things you could ever do. I hate when I have to go for a run on my own, and I've been running for 10 years, same age as you. If you run in a group it's a good laugh.

Weights equipment probably isn't what you need. If you eat more, and stay eating healthy - fair play to ya on that, I still can't do that, the running 5/6 times a week keeps me around 9 stone +/- a few pounds, I'm 5 foot 11 - and tone your stomach, obliques you'll lose fat around your stomach. Chin ups are a great way to tone up, because you have to lift your whole body weight clear of the ground so you're using alot of your upper body.

Set yourself a circuit program and stick to it, start low but build it up

you should swim... im telling you its one of the best forms of exercise.. youll be surprised about the results of a good swim.... much better than running because of less impact.... if u suddenly take up running then you are going to f*ck up your ankles.... trust me swimming is the way to go..... oh and u should ea more as well... the fat in your body swells up if you do not eat enough, thus making you look fat.....
anyway, im 15, a reasonable height but im not very tall but i still eat loads and loads but im only something like 9 stone..... its all about exercising more and building up your mitabalism(cant spell that :p), then you can eat all you want and not gain a thing :p

I'm no expert, but weights at 16? I think you should wait til about 18 TBH.

Sounds like all you need is to tone up. Why not start with something as simple as just flexing your stomach muscles, which you can do anywhere. Just flex them for about a minute (or whatever's comfortable) and then relax for a minute and keep doing it.

Like Fajitas! said, it's probably not such a good idea to be seriously lifting weights at your age, especially if you're a "late bloomer".

Also, as other posters said, you need to be eating more. Obviously don't gorge yourself on stuff, but at least have something light at lunch time. It'll help you concentrate better in school too.

Brisk walking is good exercise. Have you a dog that you could take for walks?

That was part of my reason for recommending martial arts. Most of the strength and toning exercises employed in a normal session involve no weights.

Agreed, I did kickboxing when I was younger, then when you have developed, give the weights a go.

In terms of eating more, it's a matter of routine rather than "eat when you feel like it". When I was in secondary school, I rarely ate breakfast either. In fact I could go for hours without feeling the slightest bit hungry. And this continued on into college and work. I could just not eat for hours and not feel the difference. Though in my case, when I did eat, I ate too much :)

Then I started eating breakfast and started eating a regular lunch - even if I wasn't that hungry. Now I do get hungry in the mornings, and I can recognise when I am hungry rather than subconciously ignore it like I used to.

Like I say, it's a matter of routine. For the next three weeks, have a bowl of cereal when you get up. It takes five minutes to eat, so you're not going to have to get up any earlier to do it. Bring in something for lunch, anything, and eat at least some of it, regardless of how hungry you aren't. And have the usual dinner.

It takes (me) about three weeks of doing something for it to become a routine, so if you just maintain it that long, you'll find yourself hungry in the morning and afternoon, but more positive and with more energy throughout the day.

You are too young to be doing anything other than the lightest weights, regardless of whether you can actually lift heavier ones or not.

Eat more, join a sports club, if you aren't particularly co-ordinated (ie crap at field sports) go rowing or take up a martial art.

Just eat a healthy balanced diet.. breakfast, lunch and dinner, rather than just your dinner. I have to agree with the above, i dont think you should be doing weights at such a young age. ;)

weights - bench press, incline press, dumbell flies. If you dont like running, go swimming or do alot of cycling.

You need to start eating alot more aswell, 4 or 5 small meals a day. Make sure you get plenty of protein(fish, meat, eggs). Carbohydtates before workouts aswell, pasta is good.

Sits ups wont do anything for the fat around your stomach. You need to do running or something similiar for that.

YOu will get plenty of excellent advice of the fitness forum if you want to sign up.

P.I is not the place for this post, you will get more qualified answers on the fitness board.

My tuppence..you are gorging in the evening and starving during the day..no wonder you have puppy fat.

Eat a decent breakfast and eat during the day..smallest meal should be your last one..not the biggest, also steady sensible eating "stokes the furnace"..irregular feeding adds to the fuel reserves..ie fat...

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/
