Got this off Santy and read it yesterday, very good book. Not as funny as the others and saw the King/Carrot thing a mile away as you do. Overall a decent book but was expecting it to be a lot funnier rather than a good grounding of "backstorying" on the Guards. Odd how Vetinari is portrayed as not in control as in the…

Odd how Vetinari is portrayed as not in control as in the other books he in total control of everything that happens (i know the lock was on one side but he felt everyone was laughing at him at one stage).

And now i know where dragons go, Maskerade tonight and maybe Small Gods by thursday

It was either Guards, Guards or NightWatch which I thought was the best discworld book until I read The Truth.

The Watch are deadly.
