Like everyone else I've heard about all the youngs guys at the peak of fitness dropping dead playing sport, I think its called sudden death syndrome. It actually happened to a guy on my street.

I play soccer and gaa. Now, whenever I get a slight pain in my chest I become a hypochondriac. I become anxious and think I am about to take a heart attack. When all it is muscle pain or fatigue, but my head thinks differently. I went to the doctor who had me wear a monitor, nothing unusal came up. I also become anxious when I'm having my blood pressure taken which results in a higher reading than it should be. I think this stems from me being overactive and unable to sit still for less than a minute. I googled heart conditions and as soon as I read the various symptoms, hypochondria set in. Sometimes I can't fall asleep because I (think I) feel a slight pain in my chest and jump out of bed.

This has only come on in the past couple of months. Any advice is welcome.

This really is a medical question. Maybe a second opinion from another doctor would be a good idea? Good luck

Stop worrying its all in your head. Just try not to think about it and relax.

You should really get some medical advice to put your head at rest.

Speaking from a personal perspective, I used to go through the exact same thing. I go it checked out, and it was stress related. The problem is that it is a vicous circle you get into. The thing that was causing my stress was actually exacerbating my symptoms. What I found helped me, was to sit up in bed. Get a paper bag. Hold it over my mouth and nose and breath into it for 2-3 mins. This worked for me. In no way am I reccomending that you try this yourself without getting an opinion from a qualified person.

Sometimes I still get the symptoms, but because I know what it is, they quickly pass.

Stay away from google, self-diagnosis isn't possible unless your qualified, doctors go through years of training for a reason, all you'll do is freak yourself out about bundle-bunch-blockages and god knows what else.

If your not happy with your last doctors prognosis go and see a different doctor, or speak to a counselor.

    Good luck!

Go to your DR or if you don't have one get a dr , explain your concerns and get a fully physical done.
