What connection do i need for Broadband?

    Hey guys,

    My father just got broadband with net1 at home in Meath but the poxy computer its going on isnt working it! It had been formatted and Windows reinstalled but everytime we turn on the PC the Ethernet Controller and SM Bus Controller are trying to installl and asking for a disk which my father lost!! I presume these are what i need to install? Theres no connection at all for braodband showing up. Are there it? We only have dial up working at the mo and i seriously am going mad with it! I have been on the Dell site and put in the comp number to get the necessay downloads but i cant seem to find what i need!

    I did d/l something from Dell and the Ethgernet installer then said somethign along the lines that the next time we connect to the internet it will find the necessary d/l for the ethernet but that hasnt worked! Its only running on Service Pack 1 XP and the XP 2 is 75mb!! I have a service pack 2 XP disk, would that work with the serial for the Dell computer?


    Any help would be hugely appreciated!
