Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Recommend a good wireless router/modem

I'm planning on getting wireless in my home soon hopefully for an iBook. Apple's Airport Extreme is unbelievably expensive at 182 euro with student discount.

Can anyone recommend one which is powerful enough so that I can leave it next to my adsl modem in my bedroom and use it downstairs? Or is that even possible? Preferably under 100 euro...

    Anyone?

The linksys wrt54g is pretty popular on here - dont forget to put the modem into bridge mode when you get the router.

Before getting the linksys router have a look at http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054867024
If you avoid version 5 it is a great router and seems to have a very good range in my awkwardly shaped home.

Would this be powerful enough so I could use it throughout the house, if I left it in my bedroom? I mean do ceilings/walls block the signal too much?

I find it okay. It gets through my 40cm thick stone walls. I have the s version so my signal gets degraded from 125 down to 54 most of the time. That is why I went for the s because otherwise I would be down to about 24 at best!
