In a fair world in nomination order Antony And the Johnsons, Kate Bush, Gorillaz, Gorillaz, Sugababes, Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, Oasis, Oasis, Madonna, Kanye West, Bjork, Green Day, Green Day and Arcade Fire would scoop the awards but we all know the Brits so you can predict a barrage of undeserving awards for the likes of Blunt, Coldplay etc.

Shayne Ward's nomination for Best Single  proves that the Brit Awards have absolute no credibility left whatsoever.

Why is U2 in the best International Group? Why? There latest album was very poor.

Good to see Hard-Fi getting two nominations. Wonder what Mr. Weller's acceptance speech will be like :)

Is there betting on this. Could make myself a few pound with:

    International female - Mariah Carey

    Best Single - James Blunt

    International Group - Greenday

    Certainties ;)

The brit awards aren't about credibitily. They never were. They never will be. They reward sales, success and marketing. There are occasional happy coincidences (though examples of same elude me...) where 'decent' acts win awards but they're thin on the ground...although I'd not be unhappy if the Kaiser Chiefs did the business this year...

For somebody to suggest that Anthony and the Johnsons could *ever* be in the running for a Brit award is about as believable as expecting Posh Spice to be unable to pick up her Mercury Prize, becuase she's due to give her Nobel Laureate Chemistry acceptance speech in Stockholm...

It's nice though - the brit awards come around every year, and every year people chime in with 'they've lost all credibility this year 'cos of the award for so-and-so'...

I remember the Brit Awards in 1988, presented by Mick Fleetwood and Samantha Fox; they were friggin' laugable even then...

And what about: Tony Christie ft Peter Kaye - (Is This The Way To) Amarillo?

Only one for Robbie this year. Boo!

Why has Shayne Ward been nominated for best single? It only came out a few weeks ago, it's a pile of crap and most people don't even know who he is apart from nine year olds. Damn X-Factor!

Good to see Coldplay getting a few nominations, they deserve it this year.
