Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They usually use "fat suits". I think you can use CGI as well but it looks really crap (think Augustus Gloop from the new Charlie and the chocolate factory).

It is a very expensive thing to pull off.

I remember seeing a behind the scenes special on Little Britain a while back and the cost of the fat suit for Bubbles De Vere was stupidly high.

What are you odd special effects guy?

Look you cannot CGI it cheaply. Just cannot. Cannot be done. You've either got to superimpose your actors face over a fat persons body and have them act them out, which is bollocks, or.....look you just cannot.

As for fat suits, again thousands, loads a makeup, latex etc.

Alternatively I'd recommend the method used by Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List (he had to gain about thirty pounds over the course of the film), his method, according to the man himself is "Guinness"

any chance you could tell us what the scene involves and we could offer alternatives.

You could just hire a fat actor.

Or you could just gain a few pounds to make you look overweight and then wear a fat suit. Same thing with Augustus Gloop(Philip Wiegratz) He was only like 30 pounds above average and they just made him wear a fat suit.
