Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

wireless network security Q

I'm setting up a wireless network, but I want to give users access to the network but not others.

Is there any software available that could be installed on the access point to do this. I would like to have a system where users would recieve a code and log in via this code - like in a coffe shop.;)

If I set a user/pass for the network, then this would have to be distributed and then changed daily, which is not desirable.

    Any ideas ....

Depending on the AP or router - this function may already be provided.
You could further restrict access by MAC filtering and limiting the number of client permitted at any time with DHCP (This isn't foolproof,as this information is discoverable)

There is software out there to do this. There's a freeware application for LinkSys hardware.. Hopefully, someone with a better memory will post it here. Otherwise, you could set up a proxy and force everything through that computer...
