early kick off for the derby tomorrow. this is one fixture i dread every year and have done for some time now. city have improved over the last few years and they always put it up to united at home.

i see fowler bagged a hatrick last weekend so its destiny that he will score tomorrow. and andrew cole will have to have his say too.

fergie says he would have no fear of throwing evra in, not sure if he will folllow through with that though.

    Very true

I work with a few City Supporters and I had to gave up the "Handy 6 points" jibe a while ago.

Quiet looking forward to this one this morning. I see that the two new boys are in the squad. Wonder will he give any of them a start.

Man Utd team to face city today:

    Evra to make his debut

VDS, Neville, Ferdinand,Silvestre, Evra, Ronldo, Fletcher, O'Shea, Giggs ,Rooney, RVN

Subs: Howard, Brown, Smith, Richardson, Saha

    City team to follow...

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,048 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

City team lines up as follows

James; Jihai, Dunne, Distin (c), Jordan; Sinclair, Barton, Ireland, Riera; Cole, Vassell

Subs: Onuoha, Musampa, Sibierski, Croft, Fowler

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Again with Fletcher and O'Shea in midfield, vs. Barton who ain't half bad.

VDS, Neville, Ferdinand,Silvestre, Evra, Ronldo, Fletcher, O'Shea, Giggs ,Rooney, RVN

Kinda upset that Brown is playing alongside Ferdinand, although I'd love to see Vidic, a real hard man apparently. Just said on TV its about the language thing for Evra, so thats fair enough.
Evra is going to revolutionise United, a really strong attacking left full back that we havn't had since Irwin and Slyvestre's first season. The way United are playing with Rooney dropping deep, full backs coming up and attacking is key, and Evra is uber attacking.

Your correct in saying its not a handy 6 points anymore, its a game both teams need to win. Man Utd need to win to secure that second place or a ridiculous lead will open up at the top and Man City also need a win if they have any ambition to play in europe next season. Hard to call as a neutral but lining up for a cracker.

Evra is average from what I've seen of him, but we'll see today I guess, Vidic is still doing 'endurance training' in other words he's about as fit as his prawn sandwich eating fans.

Going for a ManC win, 1 up at half time, ending in 2-1 to City. Revolutionising left backs or not

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Lots of loose pass's, ball retention for both is poor, utd shading the opening 25, no sign of any revolutionary left side attacks yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭Hobart

Yea, Evra looks nothing special at this stage. WTF is Ronaldo at? He should be subbed at half time for his patethic showboating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭Hobart

    Go on the City!!!

    JOSH is appalling....

1-0 sinclair, beautiful move, O Shea robbed in Midfield, good play down the right, and no sign of revolutionary defending either. All credit to Stephen Ireland who is having a fantastic game so far.

    Silvestre at fault. 1-0 City

    2-0!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

2-0 Vassel, route 1, Evra certainly isnt revolutionary in the air

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    Terrible play from United.
the central midfield have lost the ball twice, once each, and given City really great chances, one of which was a goal.
Slyvestre has been at fault for both goals, it appears Evra is at fault for both goals, just because Slyvestre is playing because of him.
Undeserved lead, but a lead non the less.

Brown on at half time for Slyvestre

    p.s.
two offside goals, the first definally anyway

    2-0 City
    No surprise there.
    United are a joke.
A few good beatings might make Ferguson see the light.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Rooney getting hot under the collar.

2-0 half time, but can they keep that advantage? I doubt it.

    Mike.

Rooney called the ref a "cheating ****ing twat" after he booked him:D, hes going to get sent off before the end of this game.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,048 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Good to see all the scousers gloating yet again.

Brutal first half by silvestre, at fault for both goals. Wes would really have been better playing a CH. Ronaldo is really pissing me of to say the least. If we manage not to concede again we may be able to rescue something but to be honest I not so sure if we will.

    total agree

that ref is one of the worse refs in england utter useless

every game he refs,he does a brutal job

I thought the second was mroe offside than the first. Most of the 50/50 decesions going city's way atm. Rooney shoulda had a free and got booked for complaining about it. Typical.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 259 ✭✭OTliddy

HA! We've been resting players for two games in preperation for this aswell! In fairness both goals were offside.

UNITED are shocking at the back.. the sooner vidic comes in the better. evra looks alright on the left hand side though.

united played some good stuff after they conceded the first but just went to pot after the second..

should make for an interesting second half.

Both goals have come from evra's side, expect City to use that tactic every chance they get, Sinclair has the beating of him easily. All slagging aside, Silvestre is a man with zero confidence at the moment, doesn't matter if he plays CB or LB. Changes at half time

Who's the ref? Not Mark Halsey is it?

    Steve Bennett

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,473 ✭✭✭Roddy23

haha what a debut, Evra already subbed off, Smith on for him, though I think it will probably be tactical

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,003 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

The hairdryer wil be in action at half time. Hopefully United can turn things around in the second half.

If United were going to have another run of bad form, why couldn't they have started last Wednesday night!? :(

Was happy enough with Evra's preformance.
Only beaten once by Sinclar, and coulda caught him if he didn't get hit in the face.
Aggressive going forward, once he builds an understanding with GIggs/Park i'll be happy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

I see Evra is off for Smith at half-time. Hardly the start he wanted in English football. The media will have their knives out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Ferguson confirms it, Evra off, Smith on. OShea switches to left back and Smith plays CM.

    Viva Le Revolution!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,324 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

The original cross for Citys 1st goal was offside, Sinclair was not off side when it came back in.

The 2nd goal was definitely on side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

That is ****ing bull****, this guy is ****ing unreal.
Fergie post match is going to destroy him

    that is an absolute joke

Fully deserved card IMO, made not attempt to win the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,147 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

    Harsh red card tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    You are totally blind.
He went for the ball, and missed it, and didn't even touch the player, what the **** sort of decision is that?
    ****ing woeful reffing

    ---

bad news for Ireland, Dunne looks like he is in trouble

He was well late. Look at the replay. It was pure frustrationon his part after he did not get, what he thought should be, a free himself. He had 1 intent and 1 intent only.
