Yeh I know the bassist, I only seen them once, they were very good, great set list, was refreshing, they didnt play the same old crap every single cover band pays which was good, they seemed a bit dodgy on some songs especially the vocals and the inclusion of U2's vertigo in the set list didnt impress me but other than that there the best cover band i've seen in a long time, far better than the same old stuff starman play everytime i see them.

The bassist is my brother. They're meant to be playing in the College Bar in about 2 weeks. Should be a good laugh.

Its ok. Can be a young enough crowd there. Sunday night all drinks €2. Its dangerous. Average enough nightclub.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,272 ✭✭✭✭Atomic Pineapple

the €2 a drink is dangerous or the nightclub is dangerous?

Went to the Vortex for my debs. I thought it was pretty terrible. The bouncers/staff were assholes.

thats cos of the 4 night clubs...........massive competition with them all trying to undercut and out do each other, its nice to see.

it really is great for the comsumer alright,

It will really put the pressure on the likes of brubakers do,

have to admit in vicars last night and it was a great night last night, had been in silence before hand and it was empty.

I've been to Switch a couple of times and I think it's great, though what is it with the 16 year olds getting in with all sorts of fake ID and then when my cousins and I (19, 21, and 23) go up we don't get in cos we dont have ID???

I even explained that I'm from Dublin and had no intention of going out originally, hence no ID, but they wouldn't listen.

In the end I went up to the owner and explained the situation, narrowly refraining from using the words "ignorant" and "f*ckers" while gesturing at the bouncers... He understood and let me in, FINALLY.

    ffs

Anyway, great club, even if some of the people are just aTINY bit young.....!
