I'm looking to rent an allotment or 1/4 acre of a field for gardening etc in North Dublin or south Meath.
Anyone know how i go about doing this. I've googled for days and no luck :(

The various councils in Dublin used to rent them out for a nomial E20-E30 a year. Maybe they still do - you should check with them. Though with the pressure on land thay're probably all covered with Apartments now

They were mostly 0.10 of an acre and not the quarter acre you're looking for. Though I can assure 0.10 acre of vegetables is really really hard work if that's what you're planning

The way I rememeber it is they were very rare in Ireland. The only one I ever saw is gone and hadn't been used by individuals for years.
I'd be really surprised if they existed now .

If you find one let us know.

I made enquiries once to Fingal Co. Council (Parks Division) and they only had one allotment site going and that was in Lucan (Clondalkin Side) - an area I thought fell outside of Fingal Co. Council but there you go.

I have heard rumours that there is an allotment site on the River Road near the old municipal dump, but have not verified this.
