Nightly Boards.ie Bf2 Games

I don't know exactly how many people here play BF2 - I didn't get around to counting, but if there's enough and they were up for it, would we be able to get a BF2 gather going on sometime?

If someone has a lockable server that is - doesn't have to be ranked, preferably unranked so we can lock it.

8 a side (or more if we have them) where we basically go into IRC or something, randomly pick 2 commanders, and have them pick their own team 1 at a time.

Could do it once a week or something. Would let us see what the people are like on here, and would garauntee a good game for all

What do you think? Could the mods put up a sticky if they think it's a good idea?

Irishpimpdude, you cannot lock ranked servers. Its a policy EA have inplace to stop people from statpadding etc.

Should have no problem locking one of the tig servers or just getting a game going on one of the ranked ones. Sure, they are there for ya to all uee them

(Unless they raise the minimum ping kick).

I can do this very easily if its actually required. Atm its around the 200 or 250 mark so I dont see why anyone would have problems with that... unless your *trying* to play on 56k or something silly like that.

Well it wouldn't affect me only that I have about 6 computers connected
to my net connection and often there would be 3 or 4 of us playing BF2
at the one time.

All of our pings usually average about 50 but sometimes they might spike
for a couple of seconds. Then that happens a few times in a round, then
after 3 times, its a kick.

We used to play TIG the whole time until that limit was imposed.:(

Hop onto #battlefield.ie over on quakenet any time and ask if theres a game going on.
Might juwst be a few of us squadding up on the pub servers, or it could be private.
Doesnt matter. Anything is better than random pub fraggage.

Yeah I'm sure we are willing to help out with this. Someone agree a time etc and we will happily supply a locked server.

For some fun we could mix teams and then play TiG vs Rest, Inf only etc.

I havn't got IRC set up, nor have I gone near IRC is years. I don't even remember how. Apparently mIRC requires money now... Whats the world coming to.

Ok I got IRC rolling. And they do want money, its only a 30 day trial. Wtf? Perhaps Trillian is the way to go. So, I don't feel like waiting a week before we get this rolling, who feels like arranging a game on boards irc tonight?
